Important Information & School Rules

ATTENDANCE :

1. Every student from Pre - Nursery to Std. X is expected to maintain an attendance of 75% during the academic year, failing which he/she may not be allowed to appear in the Final Examinations in March. Absence of the child from the School needs to be intimated to the class teacher in advance.
2. Application for long absence due to illness has to be accompanied by the medical certificate.
3. Advance approval of the Principal is required for leave of any nature other than illness, if it is for more than 3 consecutive days.
1. No student will be allowed to enter the school after the school reporting time. The school gate will remain closed after the school reporting time.

SVPS

System of Education:

SVPS follows the curriculum as prescribed by CBSE for

Std.I to Std. XII

The curriculum is designed to ensure all round development of each student. The medium of instruction is English and special emphasis is laid on both written and spoken English at all levels.

The scheme of studies is structured and the link between Pre-Primary, Primary, Middle , Secondary and Senior Secondary stages is integrated and phased.

Play Group to Prep

At this stage, the students' cognitive and motor skills are developed which provide exposure for children to pursue their natural curiosity and imagination in a stimulating and exciting environment. The core program of studies is enriched with Art, Dance, Music, Sports and other activities. Learning through structured activities and regular trips creates a solid foundation for a child to progress with ease and confidence through various stages of growth and development.

Std. I to V

This is the stage when a smooth transition from childhood to adolescence is facilitated considering their intellectual, aesthetic physical & cultural growth. At the end of this stage, the students are prepared to take up secondary level curriculum of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

Std.VI - VIII

At this level emphasis is given on the development based curriculum and students are taught the essential concepts of the subjects. The progress of each student is monitored closely and regular assessments are conducted. Apart from preparing students for academics, they are also taught the importance of Moral Values and General Knowledge during their schooling at SVPS.

Std. IX - XII

A four-year period moves students into top gear of secondary and senior secondary education as they develop both depth and breadth of context in theory and application. Individual attention through remedial & enrichment classes are the steps used for students at this level as per the guidelines laid down by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi.

Examinations :

1. In accordance with the CBSE notification, regularity in attendance and completion of the school and home assignments on time are important and it will be assessed.

2. Promotion at the end of each academic year is granted based on the parameters of a child's performance. It is necessary to appear in all examinations to be eligible for promotion.

3. An examination/ test can neither be taken before nor after the scheduled date whatsoever be the reason. In case of absence, the child will not be considered for credit of marks/grade.

4. No leave other than medical leave is normally sanctioned during examination period provided a medical certificate from such medical authority as will satisfy the Principal, is submitted on the day the student is absent.

5. Candidates will be disqualified if they are detected giving or obtaining or attempting to give or obtain unfair assistance in examination/test or if they have in their possession any book, memorandum, notes or paper etc. except the question paper of the current examination/test.

6. All cases of doubt regarding promotion are left entirely to the discretion of the Principal. Parents must not approach for reconsideration once the decision has been made.

School Transport :

Students can avail school transport subject to the availability of transport on the specific route. Students are not allowed to change their transport or bus stop without prior permission. Parents are requested to meet the School Transport-In- Charge well in advance, if a change of stop is required. The transport facility opted once will have to be continued for the entire session. Indiscipline in the transport will not be tolerated on any account and may lead to discontinuation of the transport facility for the concerned student. Students are required not to cause any damage to the School transport. Cost of any damage to cushion covers, curtains or any other fittings, fixtures etc. in the bus shall be recovered from the concerned student. transport facility may be withdrawn on certain routes or routes may be modified if need arises or the management decides to do so.

Transport Rules :

1.Students should be present at their respective stops at least five minutes before the arrival time of the transport. They must keep off the main roads.

2.Students must be seated as soon as they board the transport.

3.Students not availing School bus facility are not allowed to avail the same for any reason.

4.Students will be held responsible for any damage to transport caused by negligence or vandalism.

5.Unruly behavior will result in de-barring the student from the use of School transport.

6.No student will board the bus without the Identity Card.

7.Students will not change the allotted bus service and seats. If she/he misses the transport, parents will be responsible to drop their ward.

8.If a student leaves the school campus during school hours, a written request from the parent/guardian and a gate pass has to be filled and submitted to the School Office.

9.In case of a change of stop or transport, parents must submit a written request to the School Office in advance.

10. Students who have opted for School Transport facility are not supposed to make use of their own transport without prior permission of the school authorities.

11. Co-operation of parents is expected if the buses are delayed due to traffic or any break down etc.
Dishonoured Cheques :

In case of dishonored cheques, the payment will be accepted only by D/D or RTGS which includes a penalty equal to 10% of cheque amount in addition to the cheque amount and late fee fine.

Damage to the School Property:

In case of breakage or damage to any School property including labs & library by any student (s), the student (s) responsible for that will have to pay the cost of the equipment/property damaged along with some fine as penalty .

Discipline Policy:

• A provision is made that parents of uniform defaulters will be informed through Student's Diary at least twice and on the 3rd consecutive day of default, he/she will be sent back home and parents have to come to pick up their ward from the school.

• The students who reach School late by any private vehicle will be sent back home by the same vehicle.

• Regularity is another important component of school discipline. Each and every student must have minimum 75% attendance upto Std. X. Shortage of attendance of students will not be condoned under any circumstances. Defaulting students will not be allowed to appear in the final examination.

• All leaves on medical ground must be supported by a Medical Certificate and long leave must have a prior approval of the Principal. Parents are requested to check status of attendance of their ward every month in the Student's Diary and on school App.

Disciplinary Measures :

A student whose progress in studies is consistently unsatisfactory or whose conduct is objectionable or injurious to other students on grounds of immorality, grave insubordination, contempt of authority or willful damage to the school property, will be expelled after three warnings. The following disciplinary measures may be adopted by the school in dealing with the students behaving in an unruly manner or violating the discipline.

1.Written apology
2.Suspension (ranging from 3 days to a month)
If an act of indiscipline is repeated after suspension or after issue of three red cards, the students will be expelled from the school.

Parent-Teacher Meetings:
Parents are informed about the PTMs through the School Almanac, Student Diary, special circulars, School App and SMS sent by the School. Parents are to attend the PTMs regularly on time. If they don't attend due to any inconvenience, they should inform the Class Teacher in advance in writing. However special meetings can be arranged with prior permission of the Principal with the subject teacher at the appointed time.

Infirmary:
A full time nurse is available for the students during School hours. A child's medical/health problem, allergies to specific medicines etc. need to be brought into the notice of the School Nurse to avoid complications. Periodic medical check-ups of the students by specialists are done in the School and the reports are communicated to the parents.

School Library :

The School takes great care to inculcate reading habit in children and has a well equipped library with a wide variety of books, periodicals and CDs for all age groups.

The Librarian and the Teacher-In-Charge guide the students of Std.I and above in selecting appropriate reading material. The students can also borrow books from the library for specific period and return them on time. If a book is lost, the student(s) will have to pay the cost of the book. The students are advised and encouraged to take proper care of the books.

If there is any damage to the book at the time of returning, the recovery of the cost of the book will be realized.

Cafeteria :

School Canteen is open on all working days for the students of Std. I to Std. X. A child is not allowed to bring more than Rs.100/- with him/her.

School Dues :
The School fees have to be deposited in the bank. It is payable quarterly i.e. by the 10th of April, July, October and January. If the 10th of any of these months is a holiday, dues are to be paid by the 9th of that month. Parents are requested to deposit the dues by Cash / Cheque /Draft drawn in the name of the School and to take the receipt for the same. In case of any kind of refund of money from the school, the mode of transfer will only be through cheque in the name of concerned parent/guardian. Irrespective of the child's absence due to leave of illness or suspension from the school for less or more days, the school dues are to be paid for all 12 months of the School calendar year.
Late Fee Fine :
A fine of Rs. 10/-per day shall be levied if the fee is not paid by the due date. If the dues are not cleared by the end of the month, the name of the student will be struck off the rolls and re-admission may be allowed only after payment of all the dues and fines along with 50% of the normal admission fee. Re-admission is not a right and will be at the discretion of the Principal.

Withdrawal of Children from the School :

1. Requests for Transfer Certificates on genuine ground such as change of place due to transfer of job etc. should be given in writing at least one month before during the academic session.

2. The students who leave the school in mid-session will have to pay all the school dues for the full academic year to get the Transfer Certificate from the School.

3. The caution money of the student will be refunded within 3 months from the date of submitting withdrawal application through A/C payee cheque only.

4. All pending dues are to be paid at the time of withdrawal of the child. Caution money deposit receipt along with an application has to be produced for the refund of the caution money and has to be claimed within a year from the date of withdrawal of the child from the School, failing which no payments shall be made.

5. If a parent does not want his ward to continue his study in the next academic session, then withdrawal application must be submitted along with the last quarter fee in January.
